The Best (and Worst) of the Decade!

This month we looked back at the highlights of the '00s. We examined the words that conjure up images of popular culture (just) gone by, celebrated our favorite female writers, and got inspired by 10 preeminent women of the decade.

But it wasn't all pretty. We had to say goodbye to our favorite magazines that folded over the last 10 years, and we also looked back on some of the more unfortunate trends of the new millennium.

After rounding up all these best and worst moments, we asked you all to weigh in. Here are the results of those polls!

TrèsSugar Is For Lovers!

An impressive 45 percent of us fell in love in 2009, making it the clear majority. Twenty-three percent are already in love and 6 percent aren't sure yet. Meanwhile, 26 percent did not find love in '09. That's what 2010 is for!

Most TrèsSugar readers — 43 percent — had no first kisses in 2009! Two to five first kisses came in second place with 28 percent, and three percent of us had 10 or more.

Maybe you've been kissing the same person all year and wouldn't have it any other way. But if you haven't met anyone worthy or are hoping for someone new, the year is not over yet!

The '00s gave us the forever-evolving, instantly gratifying Internet, but not without hacking away at our beloved magazines. From 2000 through 2009, we watched some of our favorite glossies make one last print run. And as much as we love the Internet, it will never tie pop culture up each month, wrap it in plastic, and wait, to thrill us, in our mailboxes. Most of You Went to Weddings This Year

When it came to your wedding schedules this year, most of you had a moderate number of obligations.

More than 58 percent of you said you went to one to five weddings — but 35 percent of you went to none. A few busy bees (two percent of you) said you went to more than 10 weddings — I think that makes you a professional wedding guest! And congrats to all of you who said you celebrated your own weddings in 2009.

Michelle Obama sure is cleaning up in the TrèsSugar Awards! She won favorite first lady and now favorite female newsmaker. From women in politics like Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin to women famous for being infamous like dethroned Miss California Carrie Prejean and octomom Nadya Suleman, the first lady blew past them all with 38 percent of the votes.

Robert Pattinson! While some of you said you don't get the Robert Pattinson love, it's undeniable that he is the winner of the 2009 Sugar Award for hottest bachelor.

More than 40 percent of the votes went to the man also known as Edward Cullen, who beat out runners-up Chace Crawford, James Franco, and Ryan Gosling. Robert's technically single, but we have a feeling he might be seeing a certain someone. Oh well, he'll just have to stay in our vampire fantasies.
